Eighteen Bistro at Scout Rallos Street

After visiting my workplace at Timog Avenue, it was time to get some late lunch. I could have dashed to the nearest eatery to satisfy my hunger but that would have been mundane. Instead, I headed over to Scout Rallos to try one of the restaurants that was in my list.

Eighteen Bistro is located at 51-B Scout Rallos. Its next door to F7 Building which houses a lot of worthwhile food establishments.

The dining area is small. The friendly owner and her daughter were doing some paperwork so I tried to be inconspicuous since the atmosphere was very quiet. It felt like I was in a library.

I thought the stairs led to more seating space but it turned out to be the way towards the kitchen.

Tables and chairs are added outside when the sun sets. I think most of their sales come during the evening and opening for lunch was probably just a test. I was the only customer during my visit.

The owner informed me that her daughter runs the place and her son did the industrial-themed decor. I think the daughter's boyfriend is the chef. Nice family business set-up.

I started my austere meal with the Pumpkin Soup - " slow-roasted pumpkin, served with fresh cream, bacon and toasted baguette ".

The soup was rich in flavour and quite tasty.

My main course was Chicken in Mushroom Cream - " pan-seared and baked chicken in brown rosemary butter served with mushroom rice pilaf ".

The dish was delicious. It was so rich and decadent. My only grievance with such a powerfully delectable dish is reaching the point of umay after several forkfuls. Its a wonderful dish but after finishing the plate, I had no inclination whatsoever to have it again. Its similar to my experience with the Black King Ramen of Ramen Nagi. It was so sumptuous but after emptying the bowl, I swear not to have it again. Sobrang umay. I haven't been back since I ate at Ramen Nagi in 2014.

Eighteen Bistro is a good place to chill at during lunch. That is, if you are already in the area. The air conditioning is very good which is mandatory these days.

While browsing through the latest write-ups of SPOT.ph, I found out that Eighteen Bistro served this beverage called Snowpresso. Its an affogato with cotton candy on top. I would have enjoyed having this since it looks amazing. I wished the server had suggested this pang-Instagram concoction.

Cost of Meal : P 550.00
